水果很容易給人錯覺只含有果糖或果糖含量必定比其他糖類高,但需視乎個別水果,葡萄糖的含量可媲美果糖含量。
膳食果糖可會被認為是一種天然存在的毒素,因為當肝臟代謝果糖時會產生尿酸,兩者於代謝的過程中所產生的分子具有潛在毒性,可會增加血壓、代謝症候群和心血管疾病等風險。

Fruits often project an illusion of only containing fructose or the fructose content must be highest among other types of sugar. However, it depends on the individual fruit yet the glucose content can be comparable to the fructose content.
Dietary fructose may be considered a naturally occurring toxin since it produces uric acid when metabolised by the liver, the metabolites can be potentially toxic and can increase the risk of high blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease and more.
